If you have been putting off going to the doctor

A lot of people are working without health insurance — self-employed, hourly, 1099, or at a company that does not offer it. So a sore throat becomes a week of hoping it goes away, and sometimes it turns into an emergency room bill that follows you for a year.

A health plan costs more than rent. Urgent care wants a hundred dollars before you sit down. For most people there has been no third option.

There is one now, and it costs about the same as two gallons of milk a month.

What you get for $15.95 a month

  • A doctor on the phone in about 20 minutes, day or night
  • No consult fee — medical and mental health
  • Prescriptions sent straight to your pharmacy
  • Covers your whole household — up to eight people, not just you
  • Ages 3 to 103; account holder 18 or older
  • No insurance needed, no prequalification
  • All 50 states and Puerto Rico, no proof of residency required
  • Active in one business day
  • No contract — cancel anytime
  • Pay by debit card, credit card, bank account, Cash App, Google Pay, or Apple Pay — a credit card is not required
  • Doctors available in Spanish

What it is not

This is not insurance. It covers the doctor, not the hospital — no surgeries, no MRIs, no emergency care. That is exactly why it is $15.95 instead of several hundred dollars. It is a way to talk to a physician without a bill, not a replacement for a health plan.

Telehealth and mental health services provided by Lyric (getlyric.com). Payments securely processed by Stripe.

How to sign up

  1. Enroll online and pay $15.95 for your household.
  2. Watch for an email from Lyric with instructions to set up your member portal.
  3. Add your household — up to eight people. Anyone 18 or older completes their own enrollment, which HIPAA requires.
  4. You are active within one business day. After that, call or open the app and a doctor is on the phone in about twenty minutes.

If you run the crew, the shop, or the office

Everything below is for you. It is already made, in English and Spanish, and it is free to use.

We are not asking you to

  • Pay for anything
  • Deduct anything from a paycheck
  • Endorse or recommend it
  • Enroll anyone or hold anyone's information
  • Answer questions about billing or care

We are asking you to

  • Pin a flyer in the break room, or mention it once at a shift meeting, or forward this page — whichever fits how you communicate

That separation is deliberate. People sign up on their own and pay the provider directly. Nothing runs through your payroll, and nothing is offered by your company. It stays a resource you passed along, not a benefit you provide — which is simpler for you and keeps you clear of anything that looks like a group health plan.

Passing this along in case it helps anyone. A doctor by phone for $15.95/month, covers your whole household up to 8 people. About 20 minutes to reach someone, no consult fee, no insurance needed. It's not insurance — it covers the doctor, not the hospital. affordablemedicalaccess.com/teams

Subject: A low-cost option if you don't have health coverage

I know a lot of you are working without health insurance. When someone gets sick the choice is usually to tough it out or take on an urgent care bill, and neither one is good.

I came across a telehealth membership that runs $15.95 a month and covers an entire household, up to eight people. A licensed doctor by phone in about twenty minutes, no consult fee, medical and mental health, prescriptions sent to your pharmacy. No insurance required.

To be clear about what this is: it is not insurance, and it is not something the company is providing or paying for. It covers the doctor, not the hospital. I am just passing it along because it may be useful to some of you.

Would you rather pay for it for your team?

That is a different arrangement and a different page. Group rates start at $14.50 per employee per month and go down from there, and every seat still covers that employee's entire household. See employer pricing ›

How I am involved, plainly

I am Bryan Watson. I live in Bartlett and worship at St. Ann, and I serve as a full-time missionary in the MidSouth. I am an independent affiliate for this service, which means I receive a small monthly commission — a few dollars — for each family that enrolls.

I am telling you that upfront because you would want to know, and because I would rather you hear it from me than find it out later. It does not change the price anyone pays, and it does not change whether this is genuinely useful. Judge it on that.

Questions

Is this insurance? No. It covers access to a doctor, not hospital or emergency care. Every piece of material says so.
Can I cancel?Yes. There is no contract, no long-term commitment, and no cancellation fee — it is month to month. Cancelling is done by phone at 855-529-7273.
Who is in my household?Up to eight people living in your home. Ages 3 to 103. The account holder must be 18 or older, and dependents 18 and over complete their own enrollment, which HIPAA requires.
Does this work if I am a 1099 contractor?Yes, and that is often who it helps most. Independent contractors, booth renters, agents, and owner-operators are exactly the people with no coverage at all. Nothing here depends on having an employer.
Who is Lyric?Lyric Health is the telehealth provider behind the service. It is based in McKinney, Texas, and has operated since 2015, originally under the name MyTelemedicine. The company reports more than six million members and cites J.D. Power recognition for telehealth satisfaction. Consultations are with board-certified U.S. physicians, and Spanish-speaking doctors are available.
Could I just get this from Lyric directly? No. Affordable Medical Access is an independent partner offering Lyric's platform at a household rate that is not sold direct. The care comes from Lyric; the $15.95 household membership is only available through us.
What if a phone call is not enough? The physician can issue a referral as well as a prescription. So it is a starting point rather than a dead end — you are seen quickly, and if you need in-person care you are pointed toward it.
Does this cost my business anything?Nothing, ever — if you are just sharing it. There is no company cost, no minimum, and no contract. If you would rather pay for it as a benefit, see the employer page.
Does sharing this make it a benefit I am offering? Not the way this is set up. You are not paying for it, not deducting it from anyone's pay, and not endorsing it — you are letting people know something exists. That is deliberate, and it is why we ask you not to collect money or run it through payroll.
How long has this been running?Bringing it directly to households and workplaces is new. I am at the beginning of that, and I would rather build it carefully than quickly. The platform underneath it is not new — Lyric has operated since 2015 and serves employer health plans nationwide.

Twenty minutes and no bill beats a week of hoping it goes away.
